MITSUBISHI MOTORS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR 2021 (MMVotY 2021)

The MMVotY 2021 is drawing to a conclusion.

We at the East Midlands Rugby Union were delighted to have assisted in this recognition for the excellent contribution made by the Valued Volunteers in our clubs.

The pandemic caused changes to the format of this year’s programme. This year volunteers were sought from the following three categories.

  • Resilience in Rugby
  • Beyond Rugby
  • Diversity & Inclusion

We are pleased to say that 33 nominations were received from 9 of our clubs.

Congratulations go to

Ampthill RFC, Brackley RFC, Leighton Buzzard RFC, Northampton Old Scouts RFC, Old Northamptonians RFC, Northampton Outlaws RFC, St Neots RFC and Thorney RFC.

All of the nominees will receive (or have received) a certificate signed by RFU President Jeff Blackett along with a rucksack and water bottle.

We also cannot forget the nominators in this process, as without their time these nominations would not have been written.

Three lucky finalists have been selected to attend a black tie dinner at Twickenham on the 6th of August, 2021

The Finalists for MMVotY 2021 for the East Midlands are

Mark Holliday of Northampton Old Scouts RFC

Nick Ashford and Vicki Lancaster of St Neots RFC

Special congratulations go out to Vicki, Nick and Mark.

Congratulations go out to all nominees, but we must not forget those who were not nominated and work hard to make a valuable contribution to our game. We thank you all.

EMRU would also like to thank Mitsubishi Motors for their support in this program and also colleagues at the RFU for making this happen.
