Adult Rugby in the East Midlands provides a structured, inclusive, and, competitive environment for both Men’s and Women’s players, supporting participation and performance across all levels of the senior game.

The adult game is delivered through an organised league and merit-based structure, ensuring appropriate levels of competition for clubs and teams at all standards. This framework enables player progression, supports club sustainability, and maintains the integrity and competitiveness of fixtures throughout the season.

Our clubs are committed to providing inclusive and well-managed environments where players of all abilities, backgrounds, and experiences can continue their rugby journey—whether participating socially, returning to the game, or competing at a higher level. Across both the men’s and women’s programmes, there is a shared focus on player welfare, development, and retention.

The Adult Playing Committee works in partnership with clubs, league officials, and volunteers to oversee the effective operation of competitions, including league management, merit tables, and fixture scheduling.  The committee also ensures alignment between the men’s and women’s game, promoting consistency in standards, equitable access to resources, and a unified approach to the development of adult rugby across the region.

Through this structured approach, adult rugby in the East Midlands continues to uphold the core values of teamwork, respect, and enjoyment, while providing clear opportunities for progression and sustained participation within the game.
