A fantastic double win for the PDG against a resilient Eastern Counties PDG!

Team East Coach Kerry had this to say on their performance:

‘A brilliant performance from the East Mids today as we secured a 12–62 win away at Shelford in extremely windy conditions.

Playing into the wind during the first half made things challenging, but the team showed great character and patience, working hard against some strong Eastern Counties defence. Despite the conditions, we stuck to our game plan, built momentum, and created some excellent attacking phases.

With the wind at our backs in the second half, the team really found their rhythm, moving the ball well and finishing some great tries to pull away on the scoreboard. A huge credit to the squad for their work rate, discipline, and ability to adapt to the tough conditions.

A strong team performance all round and a great result.’

Team Midlands Coach Abi had this reaction to their performance:

‘A focused and dynamic start to the first half saw Team Mids take the lead within 10 minutes of the match. Putting a lot of recent training into practice, support in attack led to tries across the team, ending in a scoreline of 43-0 at the half.

Eastern Counties rallied at half time with a few key changes to line up, and they got their first points in soon after the second half whistle, with a converted try. Another try came soon after for EC before Team Mids assessed and adjusted to the changes in personnel and continued to increase their own scoreline.

A great show of teamwork and resilience from both sides.’

The PDG now begins their preparations for their final game of their season in 4 weeks time.
